GAM replaces Frontier Opps with long/short strategy

GAM has closed Sean Taylor's Frontier Opportunities fund and moved existing investors into a similar UCITS fund which can take long and short positions.

The new fund, GAM Star Frontier Equity, is a Dublin domiciled UCITS version of its Virgin Islands listed Frontier Opportunities Equity Hedge fund. The fund, also run by Taylor, will use the same strategy as the Virgin Islands listed vehicle, which takes a more active approach than the previous offering. The old fund redeemed money to shareholders at the start of May, with investors given the option to re-invest in the new fund.
