Chancellors to do battle in first live TV election debate

The first televised election debate kicks off on Channel 4 tonight, with a predictable focus on the state of the economy.

Ask the Chancellors brings the Treasury's current incumbent, Alistair Darling, face-to-face with the two men who want his job. The Conservatives' George Osborne and Liberal Democrats' Vince Cable will join Darling to face tough questions from host Krishnan Guru-Murphy and a live audience.
