Around 50% of UK investors are not planning to use their Isa allowance this year, according to research from the AITC. A loss of confidence in equities has made property the private investor's first choice in 2003, with 53% tipping property to outperform equities and only 9% believing equities will be the better performers. Of investors who do plan to use all or part of their allowance, 61% will invest in cash Isas, compared to just 26% planning to invest in equity Isas.
