Group to launch onshore version of African and Middle East portfolio to offer local expertise to UK retail market

Investec has launched an onshore Africa and Middle East fund to reach the wider UK market as the group closes its offshore Africa vehicle at $600m. Co-managed by Amr Seif and Roelof Horne, the launch will closely mirror the Guernsey-domiciled Africa & Middle East portfolio launched in April. David Aird, managing director at Investec, said it launched the offshore vehicle, alongside the group's first Middle East and North Africa (MENA) product, to serve mainly offshore markets.
