Octopus Investments has raided Close Investments to bolster its small-cap team, recruiting Aim specialists Andrew Buchanan and Kate Tidbury. The group has also won three Close Aim VCT mandates run by the pair, accounting for £65m in assets. Buchanan, who leaves after an 11-year stint, co-managed the Close Beacon fund and IHT Aim, Close Brothers Aim and Close Second Aim VCTs with Tidbury. All three trusts moved to Octopus on 1 August and will come under that brand in due course.
