Gartmore is launching a technology fund focused on the UK market which will have an initial portfolio of around 70 stocks. As previously reported in Investment Week, the fund, which is called the Gartmore UK Techtornado Fund, will be run by the group's UK smaller companies team headed by Gervais Williams. Williams also runs Gartmore UK & Irish Smaller Companies. The day to day management of the fund will be carried out by Tim Dainton, who runs a range of segregated smaller company pension funds and takes part in stock selection across Gartmore's smaller company portfolios.
