New Star Asset Management was the fastest growing UK fund management group in 2003, with a fivefold increase in assets moving it into the top 20 providers just three years after launch. With £4.2bn under management at the end of November 2003, according to IMA figures, New Star is now £1.2bn behind founder John Duffield's former company Jupiter. The latter grew 25% over the course of 2003, increasing to £5.4bn by November.
