Standard Life is allowing its three trust plans to invest in collective funds from today. The gift plans using investment funds can hold unit trusts and Oeics, written either in absolute, flexible or discretionary trusts. Clients taking advantage of this facility can access over 700 collective investments held on the group's FundZone platform. Standard Life said the shift is part of the group's overriding strategy to move from a traditional insurer to an asset management company.
