One of the many significant changes to investments at A-day was the revision to borrowing limits. The maximum that a scheme may borrow is now only 50% of the net assets of the fund. A popular investment by member-directed registered pension schemes, both Ssas and Sipp, is the exempt property unit trust (Eput) but caution is advised as these may fall foul of HMRC.
