Barings UK fund manager Errol Francis left to join Credit Suisse Asset Management (CSAM) in the New Year. While he was to be manager on a UK equity fund, CSAM had yet to decide which one to give him. Francis, who had been with Barings for 15 years, took over running the £122m UK Growth and £8m UK Equity Income funds following the departure of Richard Buxton to Schroders at the start of 2002. The manager, who was set to start at CSAM on 26 January, would be working alongside Leigh Harrison, manager of the group's UK equity income funds, as well as UK institutional manager Phil True.
