Men are four times as likely to invest in a self-invested personal pension as women, with an average monthly contribution of £1,300. According to a survey of around 4,000 FundsNetwork Sipp clients, the typical investor is a 51-year-old man living in London or the Home Counties. The survey considers those taking advice and those using FundsNetwork's direct proposition, discovering lump sum is the most popular method of deposit.
