Cumbrian haulier Eddie Stobart has agreed to be bought by the Westbury Property Fund as part of a £138m reverse takeover deal. The deal is being funded by an asset swap with the owners of Eddie Stobart buying Westbury's property assets for £142m and incorporating them into their investment vehicle WA Developments International. Among Westbury’s holdings are a port in Runcorn, Cheshire, and a rail terminal in nearby Widnes, which will be combined with Eddie Stobart’s road transport, warehouse and rail freight operations.
