John Chatfeild-Roberts has run the Merlin portfolios at Jupiter since 2002 alongside Peter Lawery and Algy Smith-Maxwell. The multi-manager range now has almost £7bn in assets under management and is a regular on platforms’ best-seller lists. The flagship £3.4bn Merlin Income portfolio has returned 39.9% over the three years to 17 February versus a return of 32.7% for the IMA Mixed Investment 20-60% Shares sector, according to Morningstar.
