Legget reaps returns from global economic recovery

Since taking over the helm of Standard Life Investments' UK Equity Unconstrained fund in April 2008, Ed Legget has raised eyebrows in the UK All Companies sector.

The £316m fund is the top performer in the sector over three years to 10 January with a return of 69.2%, outshining 278 vehicles, according to Morningstar. The fund has also performed strongly over one year, boasting a return of 33.9%, ranking it fifth in the peer group. Legget runs the fund as an actively managed concentrated portfolio, at present containing 54 stocks, measured against an equally weighted FTSE 350 benchmark.
