At first glance, the introduction of pensions simplification offers very few additional options at retirement for investors with small pension pots. But delve deeper and you will find that the changes introduced by the Finance Act 2004 have resulted in an increasing number of ways in which clients holding the average size pension fund of £30,000 can draw those benefits. Making the assumption that such investors will rely quite heavily on this pot to supplement the state pension entitlement, no right minded adviser is going to recommend anything other than a guaranteed annuity.
