Schroder's UK Alpha Plus springs from bear market with top-quartile returns
When Schroders launched Richard Buxton's UK Alpha Plus fund, Britain was still in the middle of three-year bear market. Five years on, and the fund representing Buxton's best ideas has weathered the end of the equity slump and maintained its consistent first-quartile performance. The vehicle was conceived to invest in 30 to 35 stocks where the former Barings manager saw 10% to 15% upside on a 12- to 18-month viewpoint.
