Latin America may be one of the best performing markets so far this decade but its highly speculative nature and the perception of extreme volatility in the region mean many investors remain wary of the sector. There are just four open-ended funds domiciled in the UK market that invest in the Latin America region: the £13m F&C Latin American Equity fund, the £19m Invesco Perpetual Latin America portfolio, Scottish Widows Latin America, which has £86m in assets, and the massive £537m Threadneedle Latin America Growth portfolio.
