William Pattisson joined Liontrust in 1999 and has now worked with his UK equity colleague Jeremy Lang for more than 20 years. The group puts massive emphasis on a clearly defined investment process and Pattisson spent four months devising a large cap approach before launching Liontrust First Large Cap in October 1999. He brought a more concentrated vehicle, Focus 350, to market in December 2005 using a variation of the process to focus purely on stocks identified as winners by the system.
