Active managed sector has better scope for investment than most of its peers

The IMA Active Managed sector's top fund has been using a number of hedging techniques to keep it in pole position over three years. With greater scope to invest than many of its IMA peers, the sector definition states funds should offer investment in a range of assets with at least 10% in non-UK equities. Managers can hold (and should have the stated intention to hold) up to 100% of their fund in equities but may hold a high proportion of non-equity assets at any time.
