Former Threadneedle CEO Henderson to retire

Crispin Henderson, the former CEO of Threadneedle who stepped back from the role in March, is to retire from the industry at the end of the week.

Henderson, who was replaced as Threadneedle chief executive by Campbell Fleming, became vice chairman of global asset management at the group's parent Ameriprise in March but will now retire on 31 May. He joined Threadneedle in 2002 as chief operating officer, rising to become managing director in 2006 and chief executive officer in 2007. That period encompassed Threadneedle's sale to American Express in 2003 and its subsequent spin-off as part of Ameriprise Financial in 2005.
