Baring Asset Management has appointed Roberto Lampl to the newly created role of head of Latin America equity.
Lampl will be responsible for managing Latin America equities across segregated and pooled products, including the $836m Baring Latin America fund.

Barings says the the new position has been created to further expand and strengthen its emerging markets capability. The manager has a total of £27.9bn of assets under management, of which £11.6bn is in emerging markets. Of these assets, £1.1bn is in Latin America equities.
Lampl has more than 12 years' experience of investing in Latin American markets, most recently at ING Investment Management as senior investment manager.
Lampl, is based in the UK and reports directly to head of equities Tim Scholefield.
"We are delighted to welcome Roberto to Barings," Scholefield says. "He has an outstanding investment record in Latin America equity and we are excited he will be using that experience to support Barings' growth in this region.
