Dalton Strategic Partnership has added former head of equities at Investec Asset Management Nick Mottram to its global equities team.
Mottram joins from Origin Asset Management, the firm he founded with four other partners in 2004, and will be a partner at Dalton.
Before founding Origin, Mottram was at Investec Asset Management, and before this was a director and global head of research at Schroders.
Andrew Dalton, partner and chief investment officer of the firm he founded in 2002, says Mottram brings with him an established client following, especially in the institutional space.
"What sets Nick apart is his systematic approach to the investment process," he says.
"We have a number of extremely talented bottom-up regional stock pickers at DSP and so Nick's systematic expertise will introduce a new and valuable investment approach to the firm.
"His track record speaks for itself having developed and run a successful equity investment process, which has outperformed since 2000 and raised significant AUM at both Origin and Investec."
