Clerical Medical has doubled its investment range, adding vehicles run by external groups including Aberdeen, Schroders, Martin Currie and Standard Life Investments.
The 36-strong range is available as life, pension and mutual funds as well as offshore and is split into Foundation, Escalator and Accelerator categories.
The group is part of the HBOS family alongside Insight, and potentially Scottish Widows, but believes the Clerical brand is too strong not to use in the investment space.
It has existing links with Fidelity, Invesco Perpetual, Newton, Schroders, UBS and sister company Insight through its life and pensions offering.
Of the 18 new launches, external managers include Martin Currie’s Dariusz Sliwinski on emerging markets, Jupiter’s Alex Darwall on Europe, Martin Currie’s Tom Walker on the US and Aberdeen’s Hugh Young on Asia.
Among the managers running UK mandates are Richard Buxton from Schroders, Karen Robertson and Harry Nimmo from Standard Life Investments and Ken Hsia from Investec.
Seven of the 18 launches are headed up by Insight, including an absolute return offering under multi-manager head Patrick Armstrong.
Clerical said its range will not cannibalise Insight's offering.
