Dominion Fund Management has launched a Financials fund to take advantage of record lows in the sector’s shares.

Dominion Global Finance will target undervalued shares of financial companies globally, particularly banks, insurers and asset managers.

Up to 75% of the portfolio will focus on large-cap opportunities in Europe, the US and Asia but the fund may retain as much as 25% in developing markets.
The fund takes advantage of what Dominion believes is an almost unprecedented opportunity for investors to profit from share prices that are now trading at levels not seen since the 1980’s and 1990s and in some cases all time lows.

The specialist asset manager launched the Guernsey domiciled fund on13 October.

Alex Bell, CEO of Dominion said “This is a project we have been working on throughout much of this year and is emphatically not an attempt to call the bottom of the market."
