Prudential and Standard Chartered have extended their bancassurance partnership in Asia.

The deal allows the Pru to market its investment-linked, savings and protection insurance products to Standard Chartered customers in Asia, now to 2016.

The new terms also broaden the markets covered to five, expanding beyond the original Hong Kong, Singapore and Malaysia to include Japan and Thailand.

The pair also have separate bancassurance arrangements covering China, Korea and Taiwan, bringing the total collaboration to eight markets across the region.

The new agreement will now include deeper cooperation on accidental & health and Takaful Islamic insurance products as well as standard life insurance products.
