The problems of domestic investing brought on by the credit crunch have plucked the Global Growth sector from retirement, says Cherry Reynard

The global growth sector has overcome many of its image problems. Historically, funds within the segment were criticised for spreading their net too widely. How could a manager possibly pick sensibly from every listed company in the world? But the credit crunch has alerted investors to the dangers of domestic focus, which, coupled with some strong performance and high-profile new launches, has brought global growth out of retirement.
