S&P Capital IQ to close fund research and ratings business

S&P Capital IQ is set to close its fund research business at the end of Q1 after a strategic review, Investment Week understands.

The decision follows S&P Capital IQ's announcement in August last year it was pursuing "strategic alternatives" for the business. The firm said at the time it was considering a "full range" of alternatives for the business - thought to include a possible sale - but no buyer has been found. S&P Capital IQ has now written to clients to inform them it is likely to discontinue the business as of 31 March this year. The company's other services will continue as normal.
