US-based manager Brandes Investment Partners has launched an Emerging Market Equity fund as part of a push into the UK retail market.
The fund will invest across the market-cap scale, using a value style to build a 60-75 stock portfolio. Brandes has been running emerging market equity strategies since 1994 and in total manages around $4bn in the sector, in either direct funds or segregated mandates. By geography, the fund is most heavily exposed to Asia with a 42% position. It also has 25% in Latin America including Mexico, and 16% in Europe.
