Cautious Managed funds have outperformed Global Growth on average over the past decade, despite the former holding at least 30% in fixed interest. Thames River multi-manager Gary Potter has found that over 10 years to the end of April 2008, the average Cautious Managed fund returned 44.6% while the Global Growth peer group gained 40.9%. The FTSE All-Share outperformed both with a return of 49.5%.
