Japanese equities, for so long out of favour with allocators, have enjoyed quite the renaissance since the end of 2012 as investors embrace the Abenomics programme of reforms. Jupiter's Simon Somerville is one of the most experienced managers in the sector and has run the group's Japan Income fund since launch in 2005. Somerville has returned 66.5% between launch and 30 April 2015, according to FE, compared with a 55.7% rise for his TOPIX benchmark and a 44% average gain for funds in the Investment Association Japan sector.
