A focus on companies with overseas earnings, and those that are delivering results now has secured a top spot for the MFM Slater Recovery fund since 2008.
The fund returned 43.4% over three years to 25 March, compared to the sector average of 16.2%, data from Morningstar shows. It came in tenth out of 279 funds in the IMA UK All Companies sector. It has achieved this by sticking to stocks that are delivering solid results, rather than trying to pick next year’s winners, according to fund manager Mark Slater.
