Schroders' manager, Denis Clough, makes unusual move from Japanese equities to test European waters
That Denis Clough was a rare example of a fund manager who actually returned to work following a year long sabbatical was surprising enough. The fact he opted to switch from managing Japanese equities to tackling the European sector was almost unprecedented. In taking on Schroders' core £257m European fund, Clough is relaxed about relying heavily on the advice and support of fellow managers and analysts.
