Manek's revised strategy boosts volatile fund

Shift away from pure growth, 20% overseas weighting and futures use all help former chemist generate sector-topping three-year growth

Jayesh Manek has turned around performance of his notoriously volatile Manek Growth fund by implementing a revised strategy and using index futures in turbulent times. The £49m fund is one of only three vehicles in the UK All Companies sector that has produced a positive return in the past three months. It is ranked first over that timeframe as well as over the past 12 months to 17 March. It is eighth in the 256-strong sector over three years, according to Morningstar.
