Geffen tops diverse Active Manager sector

Best performing of three managed sectors has lowest average fund size, with many pointing to proliferation of multi-manager offerings in peer group

Neptune's Robin Geffen believes investors are missing out by not using funds from the Active Managed sector where flexibilities allow managers to ride the current market. The group's chief investment officer said funds have the ability to go 100% equities when good times are anticipated, but can also be fully exposed to bonds and cash during market downturns. The gap between the best and worst fund is so wide however that choosing the right vehicle is critical.
