The purchase of Deutsche Asset Management UK operation is by no means the first corporate drama in Aberdeen Asset Management's turbulent history but could bring about some of the most drastic changes to the group's fund range. The group has acquired many businesses before, in particular the high profile group Prolific, bought from Scottish Provident in 1997.
