China vows to hit back after Trump threatens additional 50% tariffs on Chinese goods

China has promised to “resolutely take countermeasures” if the US further increases levies on Beijing by 50%, the country’s Ministry of Commerce said today (8 April).

The Chinese ministry called the US-imposed ‘reciprocal' tariffs "groundless and typical of unilateral bullying", with a government spokesperson stating: "China will fight till the end if the US side is bent on going down the wrong path."
