MSCI launches megatrend indices

MSCI has launched five thematic indices tracking the performance of long-term megatrends that are set to impact society and the economy in the future.

The indices are aimed at investors focused on the themes of smart cities, the digital economy, future mobility, disruptive technology and millennials. The methodology for constructing the indices systematically identifies companies based on how their business lines are linked with the theme being modelled; an economic relevance score is then used to assess the strength of that link to select the final index constituents.
