After Donald Trump's win, the cynic might begin to wonder what it will take to shock equity investors into a full-blown sell-off.

For me, the markets' rather laid back reaction was truly revelatory - readers will know that I have been anxiously predicting a 15% sell-off, which spectacularly failed to deliver. What we ended up with was a relief rally.  The good news is that over the next 12 months, there will be plenty of other big political events for investors not to panic about. First up we have the Italians and their referendum on 4 December.
