A few weeks back, I had the good fortune to be stuck in a room full of UKIP supporters. As I stood there chatting away, I had one of my epiphany moments about modern investment – age and attitudes towards risk and the wider society are increasingly corrupting our understanding of investment risk and return. What was most interesting about this group was what they thought about economics and investment. They believed we are all utterly screwed.
