What are the attributes you look for in a fund manager or an asset management company? ‘Steady', ‘consistent', ‘predictable', ‘experienced', ‘disciplined', maybe even ‘boring' or ‘a few grey hairs' as well.

You probably wouldn’t want ‘unpredictable’, ‘volatile’, ‘egotistical’ (although we can all think of a few who have this attribute), ‘confrontational’, ‘dogmatic’ and ‘vain’ (again I can think of a number of them). Perhaps most of all, you would not want him or her to think they are the ‘special’ or ‘chosen one’, in the sense of thinking they are the next Warren Buffett. After all we all know what happens when fund managers begin to think they have seen it all before and worked out the ‘secrets’ of stock market investing.
