M&GPrudential suffers £9.9bn in outflows

M&GPrudential (M&G) saw net outflows of £9.9bn in 2018 on the back of a "challenging market environment for equity and fixed income business" and the loss of a £6.5bn institutional mandate.

The net outflows are in contrast to the £17.3bn in net inflows seen in 2017. However, the outflows were partially offset by inflows into M&G's multi-asset wholesale offerings and other institutional business products, including public debt and illiquid credit strategies. Total M&GPrudential assets under management fell to £321.2bn from £350.7bn in 2017, taking into account the impact of the £12.5bn annuity reinsurance agreement announced in March 2018.
