M&G to merge Global Leaders into Global Themes fund following Smith's departure

M&G Investments is planning to merge its £478m Global Leaders fund into the £2.1bn Global Themes fund, following a review of the former fund.

The move, which has been approved by the regulator but is subject to shareholder approval, comes following the announcement in November that current manager Aled Smith will step down in April. The Global Themes fund will continue to be run by portfolio manager Jamie Horvat, who has been in charge since December 2015.
