Buffett waits to deploy cash as Berkshire war chest nears $100bn

Warren Buffett's company Berkshire Hathaway is nearing the milestone of holding $100bn in cash, as management wait for the right opportunities to put this money to work.

According to Bloomberg, the company's cash pile reached a record high of $99.7bn at the end of the second quarter. Buffett (pictured), CEO of Berkshire Hathaway which he has run for  50 years, said the high cash reserve was the result of fewer acquisitions recently.
