Polar Capital unveils UK Value Opps fund for Hamilton; Godber to join in April

Polar Capital will launch its long-awaited UK Value Opportunities fund for ex-Miton manager Georgina Hamilton this week.

Hamilton, who moved to Polar Capital in October last year, will initially be sole manager of the fund, with George Godber joining her in April as per his contractual agreement with Miton. The pair previously ran the Miton UK Value Opportunities fund for three years, which peaked at £869m AUM in March 2016, before announcing their departure last April. Their new fund at Polar Capital, which launches on 31 January, will aim to achieve long-term capital appreciation through investing in undervalued UK companies.
