JM Finn head of research Kidston dies

Geordie Kidston, head of research at JM Finn & Co, has passed away following an accident at home over the weekend.

Kidston, who joined the group in September 2004, died at his home on Sunday. The group said in a statement that Kidston was a "hugely popular" member of the team and "will be fondly remembered for his germane approach to delivering his daily morning meeting". In his role, Kidston was responsible for undertaking macroeconomic research and all stock selection. He also provided advice for a number of hedge funds and senior institutions.
