Source launches private equity ETF

ETP provider Source has launched a private equity ETF as a more liquid alternative to investing in private equity buyout funds.

The Source Nomura Modelled PERI UCITS ETF will invest in listed, public-market instruments, in an effort to provide the liquidity that traditional private equity investments lack. It has a lower minimum investment than traditional private equity funds, with one share worth around $12,000 (£7,429) at launch, and is traded daily on the London Stock Exchange. The ETF tracks the performance of the Nomura QES Modelled Private Equity Returns index, targeting returns similar to the global buyout fund universe by investing in equity sector indices and cash in major currencies.
