Schroders: UK Opps and UK Alpha Plus 'can co-exist'

Schroders is considering having two flagship UK equity funds running alongside each other once its £424m acquisition of Cazenove Capital is complete.

Schroders’ managing director of UK intermediary, Robin Stoakley (pictured), said the group is not ruling out the possibility of having Julie Dean’s Cazenove UK Opportunities fund sit alongside outgoing manager Richard Buxton’s Schroder UK Alpha Plus fund in its UK equity range. “I have often described Schroders as a boutique of boutiques – we do not dictate style to fund managers, we employ fund managers and we provide them with support and infrastructure, as long as it is a successful investment style," he said. “If you look within our UK equity or even our European equity franchise,...
