Update: Schroders in bid talks with Cazenove

Schroders is in talks with Cazenove Capital over a possible acquisition of the boutique.

Cazenove and Schroders said discussions are ongoing about a possible cash offer, with loan note alternative, by Schroders for the entire issued ordinary share capital of Cazenove. However, it said it is not certain these discussions will lead to an offer being made for Cazenove. According to the rules on City Code on Takeovers and Mergers, Schroders must make a decision on whether to make an offer by 5pm on 19 April 2013. Schroders will be interested in the boutique as it looks to shore up its UK equity team following the loss of Richard Buxton and Errol Francis to Old Mutual Global I...
