Sanlam sells 22% stake in Punter Southall

South African financial services group, Sanlam has sold its 22% stake in Punter Southall to management of the firm.

Punter Southall, which has businesses in actuarial consulting, financial consultancy and investment management is now the biggest independently owned pensions consultancy in the UK after buying out Sanlam. Sanlam UK chief executive Lukas van der Walt said: "As sole investment partner since 2001, we have been impressed with the growth and successful diversification of the group. The investment has been good for Sanlam." The group will now be owned entirely by its principals and staff.
