Aberdeen merges Langford's Global Sterling Corporate Bond fund

Aberdeen is merging its Global Sterling Corporate Bond fund into its Global World Bond fund due to the small size of the former portfolio.

The Global Sterling Corporate Bond fund has just £6m in assets, while the Global World Bond fund, which also invests in corporate bonds but on a worldwide scale, has £40m. Both are Luxembourg domiciled. Chris Langford, who runs the Global Sterling Corporate Bond fund, will continue to run the group's £41m Corporate Bond fund, leaving Richard Dryer managing the global fund. The Global Sterling Corporate Bond fund has lagged peers over three years, returning 11.8% compared to the Sterling Corporate Bond sector average of 20.2%.
